The IGN livestream made a note of the lack of hidden blade action in the trailer, and said that Ubisoft has confirmed that Connor will have a hidden blade, although it wasn’t the focus of his fighting here. We as fans are used to our assassins killing with the blade, and Ubisoft is going to want to show off its new Anvil engine, so why give us old hat? 

Also, depending on Connor’s level of initiation into the Assassin’s Order, he may not have the hidden blade yet. The blade is something you earn; the only reason Ezio had his so early is because he inherited his dead assassin father’s. I have a feeling that we will actually be following Connor’s rise in the Assassin’s Order from a novice onward, moreso than Altair’s disgrace.

We’ll find out more as the days progress! But for right now, it’s all speculation.
